Jean Marie River

Jean Marie River (Slavey language: Tthek'éhdélį or Tthek'edeli "water flowing over clay") is a "Designated Authority"〔(Differences in Community Government Structure )〕 in the Dehcho Region of the Northwest Territories, Canada. The community is located on the Jean Marie River where it joins the Mackenzie River. The community has a small airport, Jean Marie River Airport, and is accessible by charter aircraft throughout the year and by the JMR Access Road from the Mackenzie Highway, this is an all season road.〔(Jean Marie River Infrastructure Profile )〕
==Demographics==

As of the 2006 Census the population was 64, a deacrease of 21.0% from the 2006 Census,〔(Jean Marie River, Northwest Territories (Census subdivision) )〕 the majority of which were First Nations. The main languages in the community are Dene Zhatie (South Slavey) and English.〔(Language & Heritage )〕 In 2012 the Government of the Northwest Territories reported that the population was 71.〔
